Stacked steel plate in a stockyard.

Continuous strip spirally wound into a roll — the default ship-form for the great majority of flat-rolled steel, finished at the mill on the run-out table and despatched without further cutting.

Geometry
Wound cylinder
Ships in this form
Hot-rolled coil (HRC), cold-rolled coil (CRC), and all coated grades — hot-dip galvanised (GI), galvannealed (GA), electrogalvanised (EG), Galvalume, tinplate and pre-painted (PPGI).
Mill notes
Width is set by the mill stand and held within EN 10051 / ASTM A568 tolerance. Coils are slit and cut-to-length downstream into sheet and strip.
